Week 74: 'How Are We Doing in Wales' public engagement survey results

The results of the latest ‘How Are We Doing in Wales’ public engagement survey have been released by Public Health Wales.

The key findings are:  

• 54 per cent of people said they had been worrying about the impacts of Brexit in the past week (31 per cent worrying ‘a little’ and 23 per cent worrying ‘a lot’) 
• 62 per cent of people said they think we will see restrictions such as social distancing and pub closures brought back in Wales at some point in the next 6 months 
• When asked which of the following three issues they considered to be most important for the future of Wales:  
  • 52 per cent of people chose improving health care so that people can live healthier lives for longer 
  • 29 per cent of people chose protecting the planet for future generations 
  • 19 per cent of people chose making society more equal and fairer for all. 

The latest Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) public engagement survey report from Public Health Wales covers the period of 30th August – 5 September 2021, when approximately 600 random people were surveyed. 

Every two weeks, Public Health Wales conducts interviews with hundreds of people aged 18 or over across Wales, to understand how Coronavirus and the measures being used to prevent its spread are affecting the physical, mental and social wellbeing of people in Wales. 

The survey is part of a raft of measures implemented by Public Health Wales to support public health and wellbeing through Coronavirus.
