Public Health Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of Zoe Pietrzak as our new Executive Director of Strategy, Finance and Performance.
Zoe joins us from NHS England where she currently holds the post of Regional Director of Finance for the East of England.
Zoe has worked in the NHS for 23 years, starting her NHS finance career in Great Yarmouth Primary Care Trust as a Management Accountant. She went on to become Chief Financial Officer for Great Yarmouth and Waveney Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). Zoe left the CCG to take a role in the national NHS England finance team leading financial planning before she joined the regional finance team in the summer of 2019. Zoe took the reigns as Regional Director of Finance, East of England, in July 2022 having been deputy Regional Director of Finance for two years.
She is a keen advocate for diversity in senior NHS financial leadership level and co-founded the UK network for Women in Leadership for finance to raise awareness of the benefits of diversity in decision making.
Zoe will work across our finance, strategy and performance portfolios and also with partners across the NHS and with other partners, to support the shift to prevention-based resource allocation, in order to transform population health in Wales.
