Find out about our achievements over the past year with our new Annual Report.
The document was published today, Thursday 25 July 2019 at our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the University of South Wales’ Newport Campus.
The report outlines what the organisation achieved in 2018-19, detailing how we have made an impact against seven priority areas of work. It also includes sustainability and accountability reports, along with our financial statements.
Dr Tracey Cooper, Chief Executive of Public Health Wales, said: “This is the first Annual Report to feature our progress against an entirely new set of strategic priorities for us. With our excellent staff and by working together with all of our partners, we have made real progress towards achieving a healthier future for Wales.”
The AGM also featured an overview by the Aneurin Bevan Local Public Health Team and a Q&A session. If you were unable to attend the event (or follow it live on Facebook), you can also view it retrospectively on our Facebook page.
The seven priority areas the Annual Report focuses on are:
• Supporting the development of a sustainable health and care system focused on prevention and early intervention.
• Building and mobilising knowledge and skills to improve health and well-being across Wales.
• Protecting the public from infection and environmental threats to health.
• Securing a healthy future for the next generation.
• Promoting healthy behaviours.
• Improving mental well-being and resilience.
• Influencing the wider determinants of health.
