Improvements have been made to provide a more accurate survival estimate across different levels of area deprivation. Additionally, the analysis is more representative of people diagnosed with previous cancers. Survival estimates using old and new methods cannot be compared to each other. However, we have estimated cancer survival using the improved method for all years of diagnosis going back to 2002, so changes in survival over time can still be viewed.
