The Welsh Cancer Intelligence & Surveillance Unit (WCISU) is the National Cancer Registry for Wales and its primary role is to record, store and report on all incidence of cancer for the resident population of Wales wherever they are treated.

Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer Incidence in Wales

The latest available non-melanoma skin cancer incidence official statistics for Wales for years 2016 to 2020 by cancer subtype, sex, area of residence, area deprivation, age group and tumour location.

Inequalities in cancer incidence in Wales by socio-demographic characteristics, 2011-2020

This report presents an analysis of individual levels of deprivation and socio-demographic characteristics, including ethnicity and overcrowding. For the first time, we have linked cancer registry data to data from the 2011 Census in England and Wales. This gives us a new, granular snapshot of the socio-demographic profile of people diagnosed with cancer in Wales.

Macmillan-WCISU partnership

Macmillan Cancer Support and the Welsh Cancer Intelligence and Surveillance Unit of Public Health Wales entered into a partnership in April 2017.
