Data are not presented here for the Newborn and Antenatal Screening Programmes.
For Newborn Hearing and Newborn Bloodspot, this is because uptake/coverage is consistently very high and there is no variation seen by the factors that we can measure. For Antenatal Screening Wales, this is because responsibility for the delivery of the screening sits with the health boards and the data are theirs, but also some elements of the programme are centred around enabling choice so looking at measures of uptake are not appropriate.
However, this does not mean that inequity is unimportant in these programmes. Actions from the Equality Strategy apply equally for this cohort of participants and are a priority for the programmes. This is particularly important in the light of recent reports highlighting real inequity in outcomes for mothers and babies.
