Antenatal Screening Wales is a managed clinical network which is part of Public Health Wales, and sits within Maternal and Child (MAC) Screening. ASW has established policies, standards and a performance management framework for antenatal screening.

Newly published evidence from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists states that the risk of miscarriage following a chorionic villus sampling (CVS) or amniocentesis in a singleton pregnancy is likely to be below 0.5% of pregnancies (around 1 in 200). If you are having twins, the risk of miscarriage will be around 1% of pregnancies (1 in 100).
A structured record keeping form and consent form for amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS) are also available from ASW.
