The Research and Evaluation division has a number of exciting opportunities to join the team.
We are an experienced multi-disciplinary team, who apply critical thinking and academic rigour to generate the evidence needed to inform public health action. We apply our expertise in qualitative and quantitative methods, statistics, and evidence reviews to address the key challenges facing population health in Wales.
We work collaboratively with academic partners and charitable organisations in our research and evaluation programmes and are a lead partner in the National Centre for Population Health and Wellbeing Research with a focus on early years and the wider determinants of health.
The wider research and evaluation team undertake a breath of interesting research in areas such as employment and health; young people and mental health, resilience and communities; health inequalities and understanding the needs of the most vulnerable. We have also supported the set up and delivery of high profile COVID-19 Vaccine research across Wales.

These are new posts within the directorate and the postholder will be responsible for helping Public Health Wales shape robust and impactful evaluation to improve the understanding of the impact and effectiveness of public health interventions and policies.
This role reports to the Head of Research and Evaluation working closely with the Evaluation Lead and collaboratively with the Evaluation Team and wider Research & Evaluation Division to develop innovative evaluation solutions.
The successful candidate will have experience in using appropriate complex mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) approaches in a public health-related field for evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation and will have a strong working background in data and statistics.
